Our lunch at Folktale Winery’s Wine Garden on September 6, 2025, was nothing short of magical. From the moment we walked in, the space wrapped us in that signature Carmel charm—equal parts relaxed, elegant, and wonderfully indulgent. It truly felt like the perfect blend of delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and thoughtful service. We started with a winery tour, followed by lunch in the wine garden.

To begin, the Wine Garden is an absolutely picturesque outdoor oasis. Lush greenery surrounds the dining area, creating an immediate sense of calm and escape. Additionally, the gentle sounds of the winery and the soft hum of conversation made the space feel vibrant yet soothing.
The outdoor seating struck a lovely balance between intimate and airy. There was plenty of space between tables, which made our meal feel both comfortable and pleasantly private—ideal for a slow, leisurely lunch.

As we settled in, the menu immediately caught our attention. Each dish was clearly crafted with fresh, local ingredients, and it showed in every bite. We decided to share the Sweet Heat flatbread pizza loaded with Italian sausage, pepperoni, burrata, Calabrian oil, and honeycomb. The mix of spicy, creamy, and sweet was absolutely fantastic.
Even better, our server recommended a sparkling rosé to pair with it. Naturally, we said yes—and wow. The pairing brightened the flavors and turned an already delicious dish into one of those “remember this meal forever” moments.
