Neuschwanstein Castle – Walt Disney’s inspiration

Visiting the castles of King Ludwig II - The Tipsy Terrier blog

Long before learning about Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, I was introduced to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Walt Disney’s Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It was the first castle I ever visited. It is also the icon that I associate with fairy tales and happily ever afters.

Different parts of Neuschwanstein can be found at all of the Disney castles, a tribute to Walt Disney’s inspiration.

I am a little bit of a Disney fan.  I was at Disney World for my 10th birthday, Disneyland Paris for my 20th, and Disneyland for my 30th. I was also at Shanghai for my 40th.  We got engaged on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. This is where Walt himself once dreamed of creating magical experiences.
