BottleRock Napa Valley: Why I Keep Coming Back (2024 & 2025)

Music, wine, food, and Napa Valley vibes — BottleRock delivers it all. Here’s our BottleRock review.

Few festivals manage to feel both high-energy and effortlessly indulgent, but BottleRock Napa Valley does exactly that. After attending in 2024 and again in 2025, I can confidently say this is one festival that truly lives up to the hype — and then some.

Set in the heart of Napa Valley, BottleRock blends iconic music performances, celebrity-chef food, and world-class wine into one unforgettable long weekend. Whether you’re a first-timer or already plotting your return, here’s why BottleRock remains one of my favorite festival experiences.

What Makes BottleRock Napa Valley So Special

Unlike massive desert or city festivals, BottleRock feels polished yet relaxed — a reflection of Napa itself. Held each May at the Napa Valley Expo, the festival offers multiple stages, shaded areas, and thoughtfully curated experiences that go far beyond the music.

Even better, everything is walkable, making it easy to float between sets, grab a glass of wine, and stumble upon your next favorite band.

BottleRock 2024: Big Names, Classic Energy

BottleRock 2024 delivered a powerhouse lineup that balanced nostalgia with modern hits. Throughout the weekend, legendary artists and crowd-favorite performers kept the energy high from afternoon to night.

One of my favorite parts of 2024 was how effortless the experience felt — sipping rosé in the sun, dancing with friends, and discovering new artists between headliners. The atmosphere was lively but never overwhelming, which is exactly what sets BottleRock apart.

BottleRock 2025: Eclectic Lineup, Elevated Vibes

If 2024 hooked me, BottleRock 2025 sealed the deal.

The 2025 festival leaned into variety, offering everything from rock and hip-hop to indie and folk. The crowd energy felt especially electric this year, with massive sing-alongs and late-day golden hour moments that reminded me why live music in Napa just hits differently.

What stood out most in 2025 was how seamlessly BottleRock balanced huge performances with intimate moments — whether that was catching a quieter set earlier in the day or ending the night with thousands of people singing in unison.

The Food & Wine: Peak Napa Valley

Let’s be honest — this is where BottleRock truly shines.

Wine at BottleRock

This is Napa Valley, after all. From crisp Sauvignon Blancs to bold Cabernets and refreshing sparkling wines, the wine offerings feel intentional and high quality. You’re not settling for generic festival pours here — you’re tasting Napa. Tip: buy a reusable carafe on day one with the logo glasses. A great way to carry wine between stages if there are only 2, or 1, of you. They also double as a souvenir!

Food Worth the Lines

BottleRock’s culinary program is a festival within a festival. Local favorites and celebrity chefs serve up elevated comfort food, globally inspired bites, and perfect wine-pairing dishes. Many well renowned restaurants in Napa Valley have food booths which makes it difficult to choose what to eat.

Tip: Go earlier in the day for shorter food lines and easier wine tastings.

Tips for Attending BottleRock Napa Valley

If you’re planning your first trip — or returning like I did — a little preparation goes a long way.

BottleRock Tips

  • Arrive early: Entry lines are faster and the weather is cooler.
  • Bring a blanket and stadium chairs which totally saved my back with hours sitting on the grass over 3 days
  • Plan your must-see sets: With multiple stages, conflicts happen. Download the BottleRock app to help with scheduling
  • Hydrate often: Wine + sun = pacing is essential.
  • Wear comfortable shoes: The grounds are easy to walk, but you’ll still log miles.
  • Explore downtown Napa after: The festival ends early enough to keep the night going. Check out The Fink for a night cap and to wait out the Uber/Lyft surge pricing

Where to Stay for BottleRock

Hotels book up quickly, so staying nearby is key. Downtown Napa offers walkable access, while Calistoga and Yountville are great options if you’re making a wine weekend out of it. In 2024, I stayed with friends in an RV at Skyline RV Park. This was economical choice and with the convenient bus service made it perfect! My friend was able to rent the RV all setup at the park and didn’t even need to tow it around, genius!

In 2025, we stayed at RiverPointe Napa Valley, a collection of tiny homes on the Napa River. We booked a suite that included a kitchenette and small patio where we had breakfast each day. RiverPointe is 1.1 miles away which was totally walkable to the festival. Hotels in the whole area notoriously double, quadrupole prices during the festival weekend.

Luckily there are many buses to other parts of the Napa Valley, San Francisco and beyond to help with the accommodations. We might try staying north in Calistoga at one our favorite spots, The Mount View Hotel & Spa. Check out our review here.

Is BottleRock Worth It?

After attending BottleRock two years in a row, my answer is simple: yes — absolutely.

BottleRock Napa Valley isn’t just a music festival. It’s a wine country experience, a culinary destination, and a perfect excuse for a spring getaway all wrapped into one. Whether you’re there for the headliners, the wine, or the vibe, BottleRock delivers a weekend that feels indulgent, joyful, and uniquely Napa.

And if history repeats itself, I’ll be back again — glass in hand, music in the air.
